Studio Portraits

Studio life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn was grounded in a lively, engaging community of artists and makers, which naturally presented an opportunity to document the creative process underway in several studios, including pictured here Fred Bendheim, Cara Enteles, Larry Silver, Margaret Evangeline, and Lara Nickel.

For sure, this was a self-assigned project, but it led to other portrait commissions, each of which unfolded over the course of a morning or afternoon, when as part of a collaborative process, we worked together to identify the essence of the artist’s or maker’s process and how best to reflect that in a “portrait in motion.”

The project was terrific fun and we are always seeking more of the same!

Family Portraits

Working with families and friends to create a “portrait in motion” is treasured time as it starts with preparing the studio, the backdrop, props, cameras, snacks too!

And then working with clients to create an environment conducive to collaborating together to establish a narrative that references the interests, passions, and persona involved!

This was a particularly rewarding portrait session.
